How does a blanket work in printing?
An offset printing blanket is mounted on the blanket cylinder within each printing unit. Its core function is to receive the inked image from the printing plate and then transfer—or "offset"—it onto the paper. This indirect process produces a smoother, higher-quality result on a wide variety of materials, including rough or heavy paper and other media. This method is the foundation of the lithographic technique used in most offset presses.
